Also featured is music from other science fiction movie and TV favorites including Back to the Future, Doctor Who, and others. Come dressed up in costume and celebrate some of your science fiction favorites and enjoy a journey through Space and Time with the West Valley Symphony of Utah!
In an interview with Tim Greiving with the Los Angeles Times in December of 2015, John Williams said this about his association with Star Wars. “I can only say that I’m enormously grateful people have embraced this music, and it’s brought them to orchestral music in the way that it has for many younger people. I don’t make a particular distinction between ‘high art’ and ‘low art.’ Music is there for everybody. It’s a river we can all put our cups into, and drink it, and be sustained by it.” Now in his mid-80s, how does he feel about composing more music? “To continue to work, to continue to love what you do, is certainly a contributing element to one’s longevity and health,” Williams said. “And I am so lucky to be working in a field that you never grow tired of.” Join us while we celebrate this great music as well as music of other great 20th Century composers.
