Acting Concertmaster

Kelly Richardson was born in Murray, Utah. His grandfather was a violinist and taught him until he was no longer able. Growing up,Kelly’s teacher was the Concertmaster of the Utah Symphony. He later studied violin with Concertmasters of the Cleveland Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Bolshoi Ballet, and with Eudice Shapiro (Hollywood’s first female Concertmaster).

At night, Kelly is a composer. He has recorded and conducted his own music at MGM, 20th Century Fox, and Universal Studios in Hollywood. He has scored music for Ballet West, written music for the New York Chamber Society, and for former New York Philharmonic Principal Violist Paul Neubauer. His works have been performed by the New Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra throughout Saxony, Germany; in Carnegie Hall and Central Park in New York City; in St. Petersburg, Russia by the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra; and in the famous Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Russia by the Moscow State Philharmonic Orchestra.
