DESCRIPTION:The West Valley Symphony of Utah is pleased to host our 5th annual Youth Education Clinic at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. This is a great opportunity for students from local schools to work with our Guest Clinician\, known for thoughtful\, challenging\, creative\, and expressive programming\, conductor Dr. Brandon Horrocks has been actively engaged in the orchestral music scene in the Salt Lake community for the last several years. He has served as the Music Director & Conductor of the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra and the Wasatch Symphony Orchestra. Additionally\, he also served as Assistant Conductor of the Salt Lake Symphony. \nThe clinic finishes with a concert at 3:30 pm in the Great Hall of the Utah Cultural Celebration Center\, where students and some members of the West Valley Symphony of Utah will perform the music they worked on during the clinic.  The concert is free\, and open to all.  We hope to see you this Saturday.

DESCRIPTION:The West Valley Symphony of Utah was invited to perform with the Choral Arts Society of Utah and Wasatch Master Chorale for a concert on Saturday\, March 29th\, at Libby Gardner Concert Hall\, University of Utah. The performance will feature Ola Gjeilo’s Sunrise Mass\, along with works by Mozart\, Smetana\, and Mack Wilberg. \nAbout the Choral Arts Society of Utah:\nThe Choral Arts Society of Utah has been a prominent cultural organization in Utah since its inception in 1987\, showcasing the best in choral music from classical to contemporary genres. Their dedication to musical excellence is reflected in their many performances with local and national talent. \nThe Wasatch Master Chorale\, formed in 2004 after the Ogden Community Chorus disbanded\, is a non-denominational group with a focus on beautiful music. The West Valley Symphony of Utah\, established in 1991\, is an all-volunteer orchestra that performs a variety of music and often collaborates with the Choral Arts Society for various events. \nParking is available in the Parking Garage at 1455 East 100 South. \nConcert is FREE\, with no tickets required.

Our featured guest artist is Eclipse6. This amazing line-up of performers will kick-off your holiday season with beloved Christmas favorites the whole family will enjoy! \n  \n            This year’s featured guest artists Eclipse6 are no strangers to Utah’s music scene!  The group enjoys a good balance of secular pop tunes\, Christmas songs\, and gospel music; all chosen with a desire to inspire others to greatness. Most songs have corresponding music videos found on the group’s YouTube page. The recent Christmas hits\, Hamildolph and The Greatest Snowman\, went viral by Christmas\, Hamilton\, and Greatest Showman lovers alike. Over the years the group has received many awards including first place in Regional Harmony Sweepstakes\, “Best Vocal Group” in Utah’s Best of State awards\, “Group Recording Artist of the Year” and “Holiday Album of the Year” by the Faith Centered Music Association Pearl Awards\, “Best Holiday Album” in the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards\, and more. The greatest award though goes to the fans\, who allow the group to do what they love. \n  \nThe West Valley Symphony of Utah\, with music director Donny Gilbert\, is well known for their participation in the KUTV Holiday Pops Concert. The 70-piece orchestra performs 5-6 concerts each year. Since 2016\, the orchestra has been featured at the Larry H. & Gail Miller Christmas Carol Sing-a-long at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City\, and will be featured again in this year on December 13th. \n  \nMembers of the 100-voice Choral Arts Society of Utah volunteer their time and talents to provide quality performances\, many of which benefit schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to the local area\, including this benefit concert for the KUTV 2News Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.  The concert provides gifts of the season to hundreds of children and senior citizens along the Wasatch Front.  This is a wonderful family event for all ages and we will have a special visit from Santa Claus! \n  \nWe thank the Joseph and Kathleen Sorenson Legacy Foundation\, Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation\, and the Salt Lake County Zoo Arts & Parks\, putting your money to work for the arts.  We also thank KUTV 2News for their media support. \nFor more information visit our website at www.casu.org.  You can also follow us on Facebook & Twitter!
