Associate Music Director & Conductor
George Dye was born in Utah, and spent some of his formative years in South America and Europe. Throughout his life, he has been steeped in worldwide musical influences from Bach and Mozart to the folk music of the Cape Verde islands of Africa and the villages of Portugal and Chile. He began his musical studies in Utah as a child, and showed early talent as a singer and brass player in his teens. He attended Snow College on an Instrumental Performance scholarship, and went on to earn degrees in both Music and Business Administration.
George has performed on many instruments and on stage as an actor in roles including Joseph (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Rooster (Annie), and Bob Cratchit (Scrooge!). He regularly records as a voice actor and vocalist. George taught band at American Preparatory Academy and conducted several local choirs before being appointed Associate Music Director of the West Valley Symphony of Utah in March of 2014.
